What are neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and contain a purified protein that is used in very small quantities to relax muscle contraction. It is important to understand that there are several types and brands of neuromodulators. At Clinique Esthétique Éclat MD, we only use the safest products. These products have been well studied and tested for aesthetic purposes.
How does it work?
When you frown on purpose, you can feel the corrugator muscle just above the inner part of your eyebrows contract. The injection of neuromodulators weakens this muscle and the contractions associated with it. By inhibiting the contractions of the muscle and stopping the frequent wrinkling of the skin, the wrinkles gradually improve and may disappear. Therefore, after these injections, not only do the wrinkles improve, but the area between the eyebrows can no longer make an unsightly face.

What is the recovery time required?
With neuromodulator injections, there is no recovery time. You can resume your daily activities and make-up immediately after your treatment.
How many treatments are needed for optimal results?
In general, only one wrinkle treatment is needed to achieve the desired results. Once the effect of the injections wears off, you can safely return for another round of treatments.
How long do the results last?
Results can last up to 3-4 months, after which a new treatment is recommended. Results usually last longer with repeated maintenance injections.
Is botox painful?
The procedure is not considered painful. Most patients report a brief period of discomfort during the injection, which does not persist after the procedure is completed.
What side effects can I expect?
Most patients do not experience any worrying side effects. However, as with most injectable products, you may experience some tenderness, inflammation or slight swelling. These effects are completely normal and should disappear within 1-2 days.
